Originally written by the famous QRP guru Rev. George Dobbs, G3RJV (Silent Key) this book has been updated by experienced QRPer Professor Roger Green, M0RJG and is now for the first time in colour. True to George’s original text this new edition of QRP Basics continues to provide the ideal guide to low power amateur radio.
QRP Basics starts with a personal introduction by George before moving to the ‘What’ and ‘Why’ of QRP. Everything QRP is discussed in the following pages from what can be achieved using QRP stations and portable QRP operation. There is good, solid advice on a wide variety of topics including choosing commercial QRP equipment, QRP kits, simple antennas and homemade QRP equipment. The book also deals with the art of home-construction, providing practical advice on workshop techniques, and choosing and using components. There are chapters dedicated to basic construction projects covering Test Gear, Transmitters and Accessories. There are even three projects specifically designed for the beginner in QRP to build.
