Sweden’s national amateur radio society SSA reports that a radio amateur has been appointed archbishop of the Church of Sweden
A translation of the SSA post reads:
We already have a minister SM4HCF who is a radio amateur. But now there is even an archbishop!
Last week, the Church of Sweden elected Martin Modéus as the new archbishop. Martin, who today is the bishop of the Diocese of Linköping, has the call sign SM5LVQ will be the 71st Archbishop of the Church of Sweden.
Tried to find more information about the bishop’s radio activities, but it is limited to 1980 when Martin became a member of the SSA as SM7LVQ. (QTC No.1 / 1981)
On December 4, Martin Modéus will be received as the new archbishop of Uppsala Cathedral.
