Norwegian radio hams meet with Government

Norway’s NRRL is working to improve understanding about amateur radio in the Government and Legislature, in April they held a meeting with a State Secretary to the Minister of Justice and Public Security

A translation of the NRRL post reads:

NRRL cooperates very well with NKOM, which is the administrative unit for the radio amateurs’ activities in Norway. Beyond this, there is a weak understanding at the political level of this unique business that we radio amateurs have through the international agreements and the framework condition we have through the UN / ITU and the social resource this entails, through which the daily activity of radio amateurs is accounted for.

Over the past year, NRRL’s management has initiated talks with both the Government and the Storting (Legislature) on roles, frameworks and support for radio amateurs in Norway to ensure the recruitment of new radio amateurs with transmitter licenses.
