A group in Barrow has launched a new project that could provide worldwide connections for the region.
Members of the Furness Amateur Radio Society (FARS) came together on Wednesday, February 26 to construct beacons for Amateur Radio 80 metre band.
The new transmitters will have ranges varying from 200 miles during daylight hours, to 1000 miles and even worldwide during night time.
