Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that Turkish space traveler Colonel Alper Gezeravcı, who will serve on the International Space Station (ISS) within the scope of Turkey’s first manned space mission, will communicate with the national call sign.
In his written statement, Minister Uraloğlu reminded that Turkey’s 2021-year space planning and strategy was announced with the National Space Program announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in 10, and said, “In this context, the countdown continues for Turkey’s first manned space mission. “If it goes as planned, Alper Gezeravcı, who will gain the title of being the first Turk to go into space, will break another first with his own amateur radio certificate and call sign, and will start his space travel with his national call sign,” he said.
