Harborcreek Students Build Radio to Communicate with International Space Station (Pennsylvania)

Harborcreek High School students got to chat in real time with astronauts at the International Space Station, using equipment they built from the ground up.

It was the moment these high schoolers worked so hard for over the past nine months.

The teenagers are part of a robust amateur radio program at the school. On Monday, they captured the interest of the classmates, teachers, and the entire Harborcreek community as they asked thoughtful questions about life in space, lessons learned, and future missions.

It was 8:45 a.m. when their mission was accomplished. But after speaking to several of the students in the Advanced Technologies Group, it is clear that this is just the beginning. For the incredibly bright kids in this program, the sky is the limit.
