Via Southgate: Germany: DARC meets with BNetzA

DARC reports on a meeting with representatives of the Federal Network Agency BNetzA which discussed the future of amateur radio exam questions and regulation of automatic stations such as HAMNET

A translation of the DARC post reads:

On July 26, a delegation from the Federal Network Agency visited the DARC amateur radio center in Baunatal. The constructive discussion was primarily about the future of the exam questions for all amateur radio candidates. This is not without reason at the present time, because in the past few months a volunteer team in DARC e.V. has been working on amending the exam questions.

At the HAM RADIO event in Friedrischafen, visitors to the AJW stand were already able to gain an insight into the world of the new exam questions, and the August issue of the CQ DL magazine also dealt with this topic.

Another topic of discussion with the BNetzA was the Hamnet. The VUS speaker spoke to the BNetzA regarding regulatory aspects of automatic stations using Hamnet as an example. In terms of content, the aim was to simplify coordination.

The direct discussion with the authority is generally very constructive and also necessary in order to regulate current relevant points for all radio amateurs in their interest.
