The Health Care Amateur Radio Club (HCARC) is a multi-disciplinary membership group of amateur operators that work and or volunteer at area healthcare and served agencies across Alabama. They practice exercise events, volunteer across the state for public events, healthcare events, and disasters in order to be able to provide communications support as called upon.
Because Alabama has a very limited WinLink network with practically no WinLink capability for most of the state, HCARC wants to purchase and install multiple WinLink fixed and portable stations across the state of Alabama to support emergency communications for health care and other served agencies. This particular grant will fund the purchase and installation of the fixed stations, while a second grant will fund the portable stations.
