HAM jumps into the frontline (India)

City-based HAM or Amateur Radio operators are providing assistance by extending communication support to the government in the ongoing fight against the spread of the COVID-19 in the state.

HAM operators have set up an Amateur Radio Station at the Chief Minister’s War Room on COVID-19 which will attend complaints related to civic issues and address concerns over the viral disease.

Chief Minister BS Yediiyurappa had announced that the Balabrooie Guest House has been converted into a War Room to combat the Corona scare.

“At a situation where COVID-19 is declared as an epidemic, the Indian Institute Hams have successfully set up an Amateur Radio Station as a noble cause to help Government of Karnataka to fight this situation,” said S Sathyapal, director, Indian Institute of Hams.
