Officials probing communications failure after Folcroft officer shooting (Pennsylvania)

Authorities in Delaware County are investigating a communications-system failure that happened at the time a Folcroft police officer was shot and wounded last week.

The failure may have lasted between 90 seconds and six minutes and the Department of Emergency Service is to review all emergency communications used during the incident, according to news reports.

During that incident, in which Officer Christopher Dorman was shot seven times, one dispatcher’s computer started to reboot, county spokeswoman Trish Cofiell told the Delaware County Daily Times. The dispatcher moved to another console and continued to work.
